Fishing Maps and Info

How can I get a fishing map?

Maps may be picked up for free at the MAREX Brunswick Station and the Marine Education Center and Aquarium in Savannah or mailed for a nominal fee.

MAREX offers a series of five fishing maps to guide recreational saltwater anglers along Georgia's coast.

These coastal fishing maps are intended to provide the best information available on when, where and how to catch fish. They also include information on fishing sites, camps and marinas.

The five maps are available by counties:

  • Chatham
  • Bryan/Liberty
  • McIntosh
  • Glynn
  • Camden

Maps are free and available at the MAREX Brunswick Station Monday through Friday, from 9am until 5pm and at the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island in Chatham County, Monday through Friday, from 9 am until 5 pm. This excludes state holidays.

Maps may also be mailed:

  • Maximum of 1 set or 5 maps (Chatham, Bryan/Liberty, McIntosh, Glynn and Camden) per person
  • Please provide a postage paid, self addressed large envelope (MAREX, Brunswick Station, 715 Bay Street, Brunswick, GA 31520)

Current postage rates depend on number of maps desired:

  • 1 map - $1.32  2.7 oz
  • 2 maps - $1.72  4.6 oz
  • 3 maps - $2.12  6.5 oz
  • 4 maps - $2.52  8.3 oz

Sport fish caught in Georgia are generally good quality and safe to eat. To find out exactly which fish are safe to eat in specific Georgia regions, check the "Guidelines for Eating Fish" section of the current Georgia Sport Fishing Regulations. Local fishing advisories help people enjoy healthy seafood while avoiding risks.
