Knowledge is Power

Start a lifelong journey for knowledge at any age by participating in educational programs!

The Marine Education Center and Aquarium operates year round and offers a hands-on, feet-in approach to learning about coastal ecology and marine science.

Download the entire MAREX Education Program Booklet.

Programs are available to students in grades PK-12 and college, teachers and public audiences. Programs are offered in the field and/or laboratory and address many marine science and coastal ecology topics.

The R/V Sea Dawg, a 43 ft converted lobster boat, as well as several 24' Carolina Skiffs are docked just outside of the facility and are available for educational marine science programs for organized group.

Typical group visits to the Center range in length from one hour to several days. All programs are aligned with Georgia Performance, National Science and Ocean Literacy Standards.
